Enhancing Customer Integration with LocateIT’s Common Communication Modules
At Clydebuilt Business Solutions, we’re committed to streamlining operations for businesses through the use of our innovative Warehouse Management System (WMS), LocateIT. A key feature of LocateIT is its ability to integrate seamlessly with external systems using our Common Communication Modules (CCM). Recently, we have used these CCMs to enable two of our clients to enhance their operations by linking with two of their largest customers’ systems through this solution.
With CCMs, everything can run under-the-radar, in the background, with minimal user interaction required. For both of these clients we installed virtually identical systems, operating by going through the following steps:
- Seamless Data Transfer: We connect to the customer’s secure FTP site to retrieve purchase and sales order files
- Automated Order Creation: The file content is imported directly into LocateIT, enabling smooth creation of the received orders.
- Acknowledgment of Order Creation: A receipt message containing a unique LocateIT identifier is generated and sent back to the customer’s secure FTP site, confirming order creation.
- Streamlined Order Processing: Once orders are processed, users can efficiently print labels, custom-designed for their customers, for picking or receiving tasks.
- Completion Confirmation: After picking or receiving, a confirmation message is automatically created and uploaded to the customer’s FTP site, verifying dispatch or receipt.
This streamlined integration not only saves time but also reduces errors and strengthens collaboration between our clients and their customers. It showcases how technology can bridge operational gaps and drive efficiency in the supply chain.
Of course, the main strength of our CCMs is how they can be adapted to suit an almost limitless variety of requirements and integrate LocateIT with your customer’s systems. These are just two of the latest integrations that we have put in place this year to help refine our clients’ operations, and many more are in the pipeline already.
